A major highlight of the kickoff was the Global Gaming Awards Americas 2025 presentation ceremony, which took place during yesterday’s night. The Awards celebrated excellence across the continent, with categories including ‘Digital Operator of the Year,’ ‘Land-Based Supplier,’ and ‘Product Innovation of the Year’.

During the ceremony, Mariya Savova, event manager of the Global Gaming Awards, said, “Congratulations to all of today’s winners. You have set the standard for excellence in our industry.

“And to every single company and individual shortlisted, you should be equally proud. Your achievements over the past year demonstrate the strength, innovation, and responsibility that continue to drive this industry forward.”

The Education Sessions will run today and tomorrow (October 8) from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and the Expo Hall will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days.

The main stage will host the much-anticipated “Inside the C-Suite: Gaming’s Future in Focus,” starting at 9:00 AM PT, immediately following the welcoming remarks by AGA president and CEO Bill Miller. The panel features top industry leaders: Bill Hornbuckle (MGM Resorts International), Peter Jackson (Flutter Entertainment), and Jason Robins (DraftKings). The discussion is set to tackle the critical challenges posed by evolving business models, emerging technologies, and the competitive threat of the illegal gaming market, with panellists expected to offer insights on how to harness new tools for growth whilst maintaining industry integrity.

Also on today’s agenda there will be a session titled, “Sweepstakes Casinos Today: Where We Stand and What Comes Next.” During the conversation, a panel including Tres York from the American Gaming Association, Howard Glaser of Light & Wonder, Shawn Fluharty from Play’n GO, Daniel Wallach of Wallach Legal, and the former New Jersey regulator Dave Rebuck, will address the significant evolution of the online sweepstakes casino model, a segment that has faced increasing legal and enforcement scrutiny over the past year. They will also delve into the current state of the industry and explore what the future may hold for this controversial yet popular vertical.

Other sessions scheduled for today will delve deeply into niche subjects. High-density tracks include the G2E igaming Hub (which features 18 sessions over the course of the event) and Tribal Gaming (14 sessions in total), alongside intensive Regulatory and Marketing sessions.

The inaugural G2E Dealer Championship will begin its competitive element today at The Strip, located in Hall D of the Expo Hall. The day includes the welcome and announcements at 11:00 AM, followed by briefings for competitors, judges, and inspectors, and a “pitching cards” side event.

An essential networking reception, focused on the future of digital identity in gaming, is scheduled for this evening at the Electra Cocktail Club from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM PT.

Social responsibility and long-term risk

The second day of the event will shift the focus toward long-term operational sustainability, corporate responsibility, and the regulatory landscape.

The 9:00 AM PT Main Stage conversation, “Breaking the Stigma: An Honest Dialogue on Mental Health,” will feature Kendall Toole and Meghan Speranzo. This session underscores the industry’s commitment to social responsibility and the importance of mental health as a core component of sustainable operation and the social licence to operate.

The 38 educational sessions on Wednesday will concentrate on risk management and social impact. Key themes include responsible gaming (5 sessions in total), regulatory (12 sessions in total), and the future of gaming (6 sessions in total), which explores how new technologies will be regulated and adapted.
