Florida Senate confirms Florida Gaming Control Commission appointments
The regulator’s full composition has been confirmed.
US.- The Florida Senate has formally confirmed the appointments and reappointments of the five members of the Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC), completing the full composition of the governing body.
In January, Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Julie Brown to serve as chair. Peter Cuderman and William Spicola were named new commissioners, and John Michael D’Aquila and Tina Repp were reappointed to their roles within the organisation.
Chair Julie Brown said: “I am proud of the work we have done since FGCC’s inception to combat illegal gambling, which has grown to become increasingly predatory on Florida’s most vulnerable populations. The industry continues to be evolving in ways that will challenge us, but our team is adaptive, skilled, and ready for the challenges ahead. We have a great group of dedicated commissioners who are working hard to strongly regulate legal gambling, while also protecting Floridians from illegal gambling.”
In November, the regulator appointed Alana Zimmer as executive director. Zimmer, who most recently led the Kansas City Automotive Museum, served as a commissioner with the Kansas Lottery between 2016 and 2019.
