Two of the Canadian gaming company FansUnite’s subsidiaries have gained licences to provide B2B technology services and B2C betting and gaming in Britain.

UK.- The British regulator, the Gambling Commission, has granted licences to FansUnite subsidiaries Askott Entertainment and EGG Limited

The Canadian company applied for the licences in March as it seeks to grow its presence in the British market. In May, it acquired the Scottish sportsbook McBookie.

FansUnite noted the size of the British market, which has 30.2 million registered adult bettors and gross gambling yield of £14.26 billion.

FansUnite has secured licences from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), enabling the Canadian company to provide its B2B technology and B2C betting and gaming services to the British market.

CEO Scott Burton said: “The approval of both the B2B and B2C licenses represents a significant milestone for us as we can now expand our operations to one of the largest online gambling markets in the world.

“The UK Gambling Commission’s approval of our application for these licenses opens the door for FansUnite to showcase the strength and robustness of our advanced technology in this market.

“As we enter our next phase of global growth, we will look to partner with betting operators in the United Kingdom and deploy our wagering solutions to capitalise on the UK’s large population of online bettors.”

FansUnite gained B2B and B2C gambling licences in Malta in December last year. It’s already also carried out work to boost brand visibility in the UK by sponsoring Leicester City FC

The company, which is listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE), acquired Ascott Entertainment in August 2020.
