FanDuel to invest in an Atlanta office
Gambling company FanDuel has announced it will invest $15m and hire 900 workers for new offices in Atlanta.
US.- FanDuel, a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment, has announced it will invest at least $15m and hire more than 900 people to open an Atlanta office.
This new Atlanta location will be focused on product development and technology operations, as a way to continue the expansion of the company in the US. According to FanDuel Chief Product Officer Sarah Butterfass, the company was attracted to Atlanta by its need for a diverse talent pool.
FanDuel is the leading online sports betting and gambling company in the country. Its platform is available in 10 states but it is not in Georgia, where sports betting is not regulated.
Despite efforts from lawmakers and Atlanta sports teams, who pushed for legislation arguing it would deepen fan engagement, the state did not pass the bill to legalise the activity.
The company says it has more than 12 million customers in the United States. It has headquarters in New York and other offices in Los Angeles, Orlando, Florida, and Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland.
According to an Associated Press report, economic development officials said they don’t know yet where FanDuel will locate in Midtown Atlanta.
In an attempt to change the image of gambling companies in Georgia, the company said it will look to the state’s public and private universities to create courses to train future employees and actively recruit on local campuses.
FanDuel also said it would work to provide resume-building workshops and mentorships for local residents seeking to become employees.
