California governor signs updated gaming compact with Trinidad Rancheria tribe
California governor Gavin Newsom recently signed a revised gaming compact with the Trinidad Rancheria. The updated agreement allows the tribe to continue operating its casino under renewed terms through December 31, 2025, extending and arrangement that was formalised in 1999 and updated in 2022 and 2023.
No new provisions were introduced in the revised gaming compact, which ensures continuity of operations at the Cher-Ae Heights Casino and authorises the tribe to offer slot machines, blackjack, and other casino games on tribal lands under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).
