DraftKings expands operations to Iowa
The daily fantasy sports operator DraftKings has revealed that it has landed in Iowa for the first time.
US.- DraftKings has announced that its daily fantasy sports (DFS) products are now available for all sports fans in Iowa. The operator had recently announced that they would be offering sports betting at three Iowa casinos.
New legislation in the state has allowed DFS companies to offer their services in Iowa. Iowans are now free to experience DraftKings’ extensive suite of DFS products on the leading platform.
Matt Kalish, chief revenue officer and co-founder at DraftKings, explained that the company has established itself as a premier destination for sports fans who want skin in the game. The kick-off happens in time for Week 8 of games of the NFL season and NBA start.
“Iowa consumers will finally have the opportunity to take advantage of multiple innovations DraftKings has recently introduced to emphasize optimization of the customer experience for all skill levels,” said a statement from DraftKings.
DraftKings to offer sports betting in Iowa
The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission recently approved the applications and documentation from DraftKings and Wild Rose. The approval means that the companies can proceed with their partnership agreement to operate in Clinton, Emmetsburg and Jefferson.
“Sports betting is the most energising change in Iowa gaming since the slot machine,” said Tom Timmons, President and Chief Operating Officer of Wild Rose. “We couldn’t be more excited to be the first Iowa casino company to partner with DraftKings, which we view as the most recognisable name in sports gaming.”
