DraftKings fulfills Massachusetts’ requirements

The company is deeply focused on serving the customers protection plans in a country where daily fantasy sports have been regulated with few wins for the sector.

US.- Massachusetts state imposed some conditions in the regional sports betting market which will be fully complied by the most competitive operator in USA, DraftKings, before the official launch, in July 1. The daily fantasy sports provider is working hard on the appropriate customer-focused offerings to strengthen its position as leader in consumer protection.

“We appreciate the leadership of the Attorney General and her office and their willingness to have a meaningful dialogue about issues of importance to our industry. The regulations put forth today by Attorney General Healy are tough, but we will comply. We will continue to work with policymakers across the country to ensure that fantasy contests are fun and fair for the tens of millions of sports fans who enjoy playing them,” commented Tim Dent, Chief Financial Officer at DraftKings.

DraftKings has been showing some advances in its sports betting services in order to fit the Massachusetts’ regulations. Some of the special conditions are the prohibition of young people under 21 years old, employees were banned from playing in public contests for money and customers will be able to self-imposed deposit limits on their individual accounts. Furthermore, latest regulation establishes that players cannot spend over US$1000 per month without proof of their financial situation and tournaments for beginners must be separated from experienced ones. “This is an impressive example of a company’s commitment to being responsive to its regulators. The fact that this process took place in only five months is a credit to all the parties involved here,”said Martha Coakley, former Massachusetts Attorney General.
