DraftKings focuses on Massachusetts

The company is reportedly interested in launching a support campaign for legal sports betting in the state.

US.- Fantasy sports (DFS) and sports betting operator DraftKings has once again reinforced the interest in operating in Massachusetts, as the company released a statement saying that it is preparing to support a legal sports betting market in the state.

The Boston-based company has already begun its social media campaign, as it targetted local residents with tweets, ads and emails showing people in New Jersey with the legend “This is exactly what you’re missing out on.” The company is expecting to increase lobbying and legislative efforts in the next weeks before the lawmakers return to the State House in January.

“DraftKings is looking forward to lending our expertise and insight as a sports betting operator when the legislature takes up sports betting in 2019,” said the company in a statement. “Legal, regulated mobile sports betting provides the best mechanism to not only protect consumers but to eliminate illegal offshore gambling, ensure game integrity, generate new revenue for the Commonwealth and fuel the growth of Massachusetts’ sports-tech sector.”
