Denmark regulator issues licence extension

After six years of operations in Denmark, Aspire Global has been granted an extension to operate until 2023.

Denmark.- The Danish regulated online market will see Aspire Global operating for five more years, as Spillemyndigheden, the Danish Gambling Authority (DGA), decided to grant a licence extension to the company. 51 per cent of gambling activities in Denmark take place online.

Aspire Global has been operating in Denmark under a gaming licence for six years, and its Danish premier has now been prolonged until 2023 by the DGA, allowing continued operations in the regulated iGaming market.

Tsachi Maimon, CEO of Aspire Global, said that they continue to focus the geographic expansion of the company to regulated or soon-to-be regulated markets, as the conditions allow them – as a full-service platform – interesting business opportunities, increased competitive advantages and a more sustainable business. Moreover, the company is planning on applying for a Swedish licence once the market gets re-regulated at the beginning of 2019.

Denmark’s revenue increased 3.48 per cent to US$1.53 billion in 2017, and the online casino market reached US$300 million. DGA revealed in its annual report that 51.5 per cent of gambling activities took place online, with online casinos leading the charts: their revenue increased 15.6 per cent to US$300 million.
