Delaware reports sports betting revenue decrease
The state reported approximately US$2 million less in revenue in October than in the previous month.
US.- According to the latest figures in Delaware, total sports wagers totalled US$14.7 million in October, approximately US$2 million less than September’s numbers. Despite that setback, the total amount won by players increased to US$14.2 million.
Once again Delaware Park was the venue with the majority of bets placed, as it totalled US$10.6 million in October, considerably up from Dover Downs’ US$2.2 million and Harrington Raceway’s US$1.9 million.
As there were fewer bets placed but greater winnings, net proceeds for casinos in the state decreased to US$448k, the lowest registered by Delaware ever since it legalised the sports betting market on June 5.
Back in September, the state regulator said that there were approximately 340k wagers placed by punters at the three licenced facilities in Delaware. The state also saw its sports betting revenue double from August.
