Delaware increases revenue with sports betting
The legalisation of sports betting in the United States has helped the state achieve impressive results.
US.- The Delaware Sports Lottery has reported that during the second full month of sports betting operations, the state has managed to increase net revenue from sports betting by 53%. The state was one of the four that had exceptions during the PASPA era.
The local gaming regulator reported that net proceeds between July 30 and August 26 were US$706k, up approximately US$300k from the US$460k reported in the previous month. The revenue results come even with a 6% fall in money wagered, which decreased to US$7.7 million.
Delaware Park was the facility that took in the biggest share of revenue, with US$482k, and was followed by Dover Downs, which totalled revenue of US$152k. The third position in the state was occupied by Harrington Raceway, which reported US$72k.
Moreover, Delaware Park also took in 71% of total stakes for the year-to-date, which equates to US$16.3 million. Net revenue for the year-to-date in Delaware is approximately a little over US$2 million, from just under US$23 million wagered in the state.
