Delaware igaming revenue doubles in May

Online gaming net revenue was up 112 per cent year-over-year.

US.- Delaware net igaming revenue reached $8.3m in May, up 112 per cent year-over-year but down 0.7 per cent from April. According to Delaware Lottery, tables generated $2.6m and videos $5.7m from respective total wagers of $116.8m and $147.4m.

Delaware Park led the market with $3.9m in revenue, up 70 per cent year-on-year. Harrington Raceway and Casino reported US$2.7m, up 218 per cent, and Bally’s Dover $1.8m, up 130 per cent.

The Delaware Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) has issued a cease-and-desist order against VGW LuckyLand, a subsidiary of Australia-based VGW Holdings, for operating illegal online gaming. It said that VGW misrepresented its services as a promotional sweepstakes while enabling players to purchase coins for casino-style games, leading to potential cash winnings.

The regulator said such real-money games offered to Delaware residents by an unlicensed entity violate the Delaware Constitution, the Delaware Penal Code and the Delaware Gaming Competitiveness Act of 2012.
