iGaming in Delaware declines in October

The online gaming market in Delaware posted a year-low performance in October as revenue fell to US$246k.

US.- The online gaming market in the US is experiencing a period of changes. While some states are interested in offering such modality, others are already in force. Delaware is one of the states in the US with legalised iGaming, but during October it experienced a strong setback.

Online gambling revenue fell to US$246 in October, setting the lowest monthly total in 2019. The bad results can be attributed to a month-on-month decrease in revenue at Dover Downs. Players spent US$9.4 million on iGaming last month, which is US$1.8 million less than in September.

Total revenue in the state fell 36.1% in October to US$246k. This is a significant difference when compared to the US$384k that the state had registered in revenues during September operations, which was also the highest monthly total in 2019.

The biggest share of revenue came from video lottery, which registered US$184k in October. The segment was followed by table games with US$40k and poker’s US$21k.

September’s results

In September, Delaware posted a year-high revenue from iGaming operations to US$384k, even though consumers spent less when compared to the previous month. Players won US$11.4 million from iGaming in September.

The record US$384k from September is higher than the previous monthly high in 2019, achieved in May when the state totalled US$313k in iGaming revenue. Moreover, September was the second month in which the state recorded more than US$300k in iGaming revenue in 2019.
