Delaware casinos rake in $500k in sports bets
The three casinos in the state reported more than US$8 million in sports wagers in just a month.
US.- According to information released by the Delaware Lottery, the three casinos in Delaware totalled more than US$8 million in sports bets from June 25th to July 29th. During that period, bettors won approximately US$7.7 million.
Delaware Park was the casino with the biggest wins in the 35-day period: the facility totalled US$5.8 million in bets, and its success could be explained due to its proximity to out-of-state gamblers in Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Dover Downs managed to collect US$1.6 million in the 19,877 wagers placed, while the casino’s take was US$26,296. Harrington Raceway reported US$717k in the 12,006 total number of wagers.
After money was allocated to the state and their racetracks, the casinos received more than US$185k during the lottery’s fiscal month. Gamblers won approximately US$7.7 million in the period reported by the Delaware Lottery.
