Del Lago Casino reopens with safety measures
The casino in New York state has reopened after almost six months of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
US.- Del Lago Resort and Casino in Seneca County made a “soft reopening” yesterday (Wednesday).
It is limiting capacity to 25 per cent as per state instructions and has implemented a variety of sanitary protocols.
Only half of the property’s slot machines are in operation, physical barriers have been installed and table games are not being offered. The property’s hotel remains closed.
General manager and executive vice president, Lance Young, said: “Del Lago is excited to welcome back our employees and guests as we reopen safely.
“The development of our Covid-19 safety protocols, known as the EXTRA CARE Program, work to protect our team members and the communities we serve given this unprecedented time.
“After being closed since March 16, we are looking forward to bringing back economic benefits to the Finger Lakes.”
The casino’s operating hours have been reduced to 9am through 2am, with the exception of Fridays and Saturdays when it will open until 3am.
Del Lago is one of the last casinos in New York state to announce its reopening, after casinos were given the green light by Governor Andrew Cuomo last week.
