Danish gambling revenue falls in June

Sports betting revenue was down due to comparison against Euro 2024.

Denmark.- Licensed gambling in Denmark generated gross gambling revenue of DKK585m (€78.7m) in June. That’s a drop of 17 per cent from the same month last year. That was partly due to the tough comparison in sports betting due to Euro 2024, although revenue was also down 14.4 pr cent from May 2025.

Online casino revenue continued to rise, climbing 10 per cent year-on-year to DKK333m (€44.6m). Slots accounted for 82 per cent of this, while blackjack contributed DKK21m, roulette DKK20m and poker and bingo DKK8m each.

Sports betting revenue came in at DKK126m, less than half of the figure reported in June 2024, which had been boosted by Denmark’s appearance in early stages of Euro 2024. Mobile platforms made up 70.4 per cent of all sports betting activity during the month.

Physical gambling venues also saw reduced revenue. Slot machines in land-based locations brought in DKK92m, down 6.5 per cent and the lowest monthly figure since September 2024. Of this 79.7 per cent came from gaming halls and 20.3 per cent from restaurant terminals.

Land-based casinos took DKK32m, down 2.2 per cent, and bingo halls over DKK2m. No comparison is available for the latter since the commercial regulated land-based bingo in Denmark online began on January 1.

Meanwhile, the regulator reported that the ROFUS national self-exclusion registry had 62,400 registrations by the end of June. Men made up 78.4 per cent of the total, and 64.4 per cent of all people registered chose to permanently exclude themselves from gambling.
