Connecticut casinos extend closure

Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun also put pressure on Governor Ned Lamont to push ahead with online casino legislation.

US.- Connecticut’s tribal casinos have extended their closure until the end of April due to Coronavirus.

Foxwoods Resorts Casinos and Mohegan Sun shut their operations on March 17 as part of state-wide efforts to minimise the spread of Covid-19.

Both operators have also asked Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont to accelerate legislation that would allow them to launch online casinos to players in the state.

But according to Calvinayre, Lamont has rejected this request, saying it was inappropriate to make such a “significant policy decision” while the legislature is in recess.

The legislature will meet on April 23 and it’s expected they will take a decision on whether to allow online casino in the session on May 6.
