US.- Churchill Downs Incorporated (CDI) has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Chasers Poker Room in Salem, New Hampshire. The venue offers poker and table games and has led New Hampshire charitable gaming operators in gaming revenue and charitable contributions since it opened in 2017.

The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022. It depends on closing conditions, including approval from the New Hampshire Lottery Commission.

Bill Carstanjen, chief executive officer of CDI, said: “New Hampshire is an exciting opportunity for us, one that allows us to put our historical racing machine expertise to work in the growing New England market.

“We look forward to sharing more about our plans to build an expanded, state-of-the-art gaming facility in Salem in the coming months.”

In 2021, New Hampshire authorised charitable gaming operators to offer horse racing at licensed venues. CDI plans to develop a charitable gaming facility in Salem to offer historical racing machines.
