Century Casinos purchased Alberta casino

Century Casinos Inc. announced closed a deal to purchase the St. Albert’s Apex Casino located in the city of St. Albert in Alberta.

Canada.-  Century Casinos Inc. announced Thursday that it had signed an agreement to purchase the St. Albert’s Apex Casino located in the city of St. Albert in Alberta, Canada. The casino was sold for US$27.9 million.

The casino formerly as the McPherson Casino and the Gold Dust Casino, features 34,500-square-foot casino’s 382 slot machines and other facilities, there are 11 gaming tables, a banquet hall and a restaurant.

Geoff Smith, Century’s Alberta branch managing director commented that 20-year-old operation has been running well and since 1994 has been solid in the market and gives presence to Century in the northwest part of Edmonton. Furthermore, the casino is ideally situated next to the Anthony Henday, which is almost complete and will be the country’s first free-flowing orbital road. “We believe we’ll be able to get some good synergies of operations and marketing efforts between our two Edmonton-area locations,” he said.

Century Casinos Inc.  is an international gaming conglomerate, which owns casinos in Calgary and Edmonton, and along with Canada, has holdings in Poland, the Caribbean and the U.S.
