Operator will reopen its 12 land casinos this weekend after a two-month closure due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Austria.- Casinos Austria will reopen its 12 land casinos and most of its gaming halls from May 29 as the country relaxes its Covid-19 lockdown.

The casinos, which have been closed since March 16, will reopen with limited capacity as permitted under the Ministry of Health order.

Social distancing protocols will be put in place on the casino floor, with customers instructed to stay at least one metre apart and to wear face masks while inside the venues.

The casinos will accept cash payments, but customers will be requested to pay with contactless cards if possible.

Casino restaurants will also reopen but will need to follow strict hygiene protocols declared by the Austrian government.

Casinos Austria will also reopen seventeen out of the twenty venues in its WinWin chain of gaming halls. Three halls will remain closed for the time being.

In April, Sazka, which jointly owns Casinos Austria with state investment body Österreichische Beteiligungs (ÖBAG), said it hoped to offset some of the loss of revenue during closure through migrating players to its Win2Day iGaming platform.

Casinos Austria International recently got the go-ahead for a new casino in Liechtenstein.
