Canton Gaming and Parx Interactive open sportsbook in Maryland
The betPARX sportsbook is operating at the Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille in Canton, Baltimore.
US.- Canton Gaming and operator partner Parx Interactive Maryland have opened a betPARX sportsbook at the Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille in Canton, Baltimore City, after gaining a licence from the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission.
Controlled demonstrations were completed on August 28 and 30. It’s the 11th retail sportsbook location to open in Maryland. Canton Gaming has an agreement with Parx Interactive Maryland (BetParx) to serve as its operator partner for both Canton and Towson locations. Last month, the betPARX mobile platform joined the market.
Maryland sports wagering handle totals $247.4m in July
Maryland’s 10 retail and eleven mobile sportsbooks generated a handle of $247.4m in July, according to figures released by Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA). The mobile handle accounted for 96 per cent of the total at $237.5m.
The state’s sportsbooks paid $3.3m in contributions to the state. Each sportsbook contributes 15 per cent of its taxable win to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, which supports public education programmes.
