Canadian sports betting operator joins NCPG

TheScore will work with the NCPG to raise public awareness about gambling addiction.

US.- The Canadian sports betting operator and media company theScore has become a platinum member of the US National Council on Problem Gaming (NCPG).

The new venture means theScore will work with the council to raise public awareness about gambling addiction and campaign for the treatment of people who suffer from gambling-related harm.

Supporting the cause means that theScore will work alongside other NCPG members in campaigning for further research and programmes for gambling issues.

General counsel and chief compliance officer at theScore, Josh Sidsworth, said: “The NCPG serves as an important voice in championing responsible gaming and we are proud to support the organization and its ongoing mission.

“There is no bigger priority for us than ensuring the best and safest possible experience for theScore Bet users. Partnering with the NCPG further deepens our commitment to responsible gaming, providing valuable resources as legal mobile sports betting and iGaming continue to grow across North America.”

Another entity to involve itself in the promotion of responsible gambling this week is the US National Hockey League (NHL), which has signed up to the American Gambling Association’s “Have A Game Plan, Bet Responsibly” responsible gambling campaign.
