Caesars to invest a further $100m in Virginia
Caesars’ Danville casino project in Virginia could cost $500m – $100m more than originally expected.
US.- Caesars Entertainment may spend more than expected to develop a new casino in Danville, Virginia. According to senior vice president Robert Livingston, “(the cost is) going to be north of $500 million.”
The original budget for the development was set at $400m, so this suggests at least an additional $100m. The hotel will now have 500 rooms rather than the 300 originally planned.
Mark Schlang, Caesars Virginia senior director of design and construction, said the company is “digging into the site to understand the nuts and bolts” as the project evolves. He said: “One of the things we’re looking at is what can we preserve about the site.”
Schlang said there will be an outdoor pool area and parking with 1,200 spaces. The company hopes to receive a permit by November.
