Caesars plans $34m expansion for Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Indiana
The board approved Caesars Entertainment’s proposed expansion project for Harrah’s Anderson racino.
US.- Caesars Entertainment is moving ahead with expansion plans at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, its second horse track casino in central Indiana, that will add space for more slot machines and a new restaurant.
An Anderson zoning board approved the estimated $34m project for Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The Herald Bulletin reported that the company plans a 38,000 square-foot expansion that will result in 100 more slot machines, along with restaurant and bar space and a new drive-through area for valet parking.
It is expected to get underway in April of next year, with construction set to take around 13 to 15 months. It is expected to end with the renovation for the second half of 2023.
Currently, Caesars is involved in a $32m gambling floor expansion at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino near Shelbyville. That project is expected to be completed before the year ends.
According to Trent McIntosh, Hoosier Park general manager, this expansion will make the casino a better entity for Anderson. He also stated that discussions about adding a hotel remain ongoing.
Both Hoosier Park and Indiana Grand were permitted to add live table games for the first time beginning in January 2020, having been previously limited to electronic games. Caesars bought the two casinos in 2018 for $1.7bn.
