British Columbia Lottery names Pat Davis as president and CEO
Davis replaces former president and CEO Jim Lightbody.
Canada.- The Canadian provincial lottery operator the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has named Pat Davis as its new president and CEO. He replaces Jim Lightbody, who took medical leave in 2019 and stepped down in December 2021. Greg Moore and Lynda Cavanaugh had served as interim president and CEO in Lightbody’s absence.
With nearly 20 years of experience in the gambling industry, Davis was most recently BCLC’s chief information officer and vice president of business technology. He forms part of the Thompson Rivers University advisory committee for its software engineering programme and is a member of the board for Kamloops Innovation.
BCLC board chair Greg Moore said: “Pat brings a wealth of knowledge in both the technology and gambling industries. We are confident his experience combined with his dedication to integrity, player health and serving the best interests of our players and our province will further propel the advancement of BCLC as a social purpose company that operates with the highest standards.”
The lottery corporation has also announced the appointment of Dan Beebe as its new chief operating officer. Beebe will be based at the company’s Vancouver office. Meanwhile, Sandra Austin has been named chief people officer, based in Kamloops. Both have been serving in the roles on an interim basis after an internal hiring process.
BCLC expands PlayNow platform to Saskatchewan
In June, the British Colombia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) signed an agreement with the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) and SaskGaming to expand PlayNow.com into a third province later this year.
PlayNow.com will be available in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, where it will feature over 400 casino, live casino, poker, and sports betting products. BCLC launched PlayNow.com in British Columbia in 2004 and in Manitoba in 2013.
