Cyprus.- Parimatch has promoted its Russia CEO Dmitry Sergeev to head up its newly created Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) division.
He will be in charge of leading operations and growth strategy for the new division, which covers Eastern European and Asian countries such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
In the new position, Sergeev will aim to maximise interaction across the territories and better align the group’s operations across Asia and Eastern Europe as it seeks to grow its position in new and established markets.
Sergeev has led Parimatch’s Russian unit since 2019. He was formerly CEO of Bwin Russia (2015-2019) and operations lead for Rambler&Co (2006-2015).
He made a strong impression in his first year at Parimatch, overseeing a quadrupling of growth in the Russian market. Ruslan Medved, currently deputy CEO at Parimatch Russia, will step up to manage the Russian market for the Limassol-headquartered company.
Parimatch CEO Sergey Portnov said: “The CIS is a key region for us and I know from his success in heading up Parimatch Russia that Dmitry will provide strong leadership for Parimatch CIS at what is a truly exciting time for the wider business – as we invest in our technology capabilities to deliver innovative and seamless experiences to our two million-strong customer base.”

New challenges await, because our ambition to become one of the top three operators in the CIS region is now being put on the fast track.
“As CEO of Parimatch CIS I will be focusing on strengthening brand presence, developing and implementing new technical solutions, and ensuring the company’s number one priority is innovation. We must stay one step ahead and set new trends to excite and entertain our customers.”
