Betsson names Roland Glasfors as vice president of corporate comms
Roland Glasfors joins Betsson from payments provider Trustly.
Sweden.- The gambling operator Betsson AB has appointed Roland Glasfors as its new vice president of corporate communications, sustainability and investor relations. He joins the company’s executive leadership team from the payments provider Trustly AB. He will take up the role on May 2.
Described as an expert in corporate social responsibility, Glasfors has experience in gaming from a stint at NetEnt AB, the online casino games supplier acquired by Evolution Gaming in 2020. There he was responsible for investor relationships and stakeholder management.
CEO Pontus Lindwall said: “Roland’s extensive experience from capital markets and work in investor relations will be a great asset for us. His experience from the gaming sector is yet another advantage. With Roland onboard, we can continue to further sharpen our communications and accelerate the pace of our sustainability work.
Glasfors added: “Betsson’s recent investments and acquisitions make this an exciting time for the company with growth opportunities in several new markets around the world.
“The group has also made many efforts in recent years to integrate sustainability in its strategy and thus create favourable conditions to secure a sustainable and responsible business model for fair and competitive gaming markets.”
Last week, Betsson’s board confirmed the election of Johan Lundberg as company chairman. It also nominated three new executive directors ahead of its AGM on May 10. Eva de Falck, Louise Nylén and Tristan Sjöberg have been nominated as independent directors.
The board reshuffle follows the resignation of Patrick Svensk from the role of chairman last year after being told he no longer had the confidence of the group’s biggest shareholders following the announcement that Betsson’s founder and chief executive Pontus Lindwall was leaving the company. Lindwall finally remained as CEO.
