Yokohama mayor announces a two-month IR delay

Japan.- Yokohama Mayor Fumiko Hayashi confirmed two days ago that the Covid-19 outbreak would not change the schedule of the prefecture’s bid to develop an IR, she has now changed her mind.

Yesterday, Hayashi announced a two-month delay to the city’s IR development schedule and will now present its plan in August. 

“Considering the spread of Coronavirus, we should concentrate on the things which are most important,” Mayor Hayashi explained.

In March, the Yokohama city council approved a budget of JPY 1.74 billion for the fiscal year 2020, of which JPY 400 million (€3.3million) was earmarked for IR promotion.
