The Star Sydney casino to increase capacity

The Australian casino is to increase its capacity after the loosening of Covid-19 restrictions in Australia.

Australia.- The Star Entertainment Group is preparing to increase the capacity at its flagship Sydney venue to 5,000 from Friday. It comes after the New South Wales state government announced an easing of restrictions to contain the spread of Covid-19.

According to information published by the local press, Sydney residents will be able to gather in public and the use of masks will be not compulsory.

The easing of restrictions over gatherings means The Star Sydney will no longer be subject to a cap of 300 customers per area. However, there will still be some limits.

The company said: “Based on the scale of The Star’s various casino areas, The Star Sydney will be able to host up to around 5,000 patrons at any one time across the total casino area.”

This limits will be reviewed after some weeks after the government advises whether cases of Covid-19 infections are growing again.

In December, The Star Sydney was able to increase its capacity due to a stable situation in the city but restrictions were then reintroduced.
