Thai police take down illegal gambling site

The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau police raided a house in Bangkok.

Thailand.- Police have closed an alleged online gambling website operating north of Bangkok. According to the Bangkok Post, the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau police conducted the raid on a house in the Khlong Luang area of Pathum Thani after police received information about the site Auto888vip.com.

The operation led to the arrest of a 30 year old, who allegedly handled the finances of the platform. Police seized cash, luxury cars and other assets worth about THB28m (US$865,000). They executed a search warrant approved by the Pathum Thani provincial court.

According to police, Auto888vip.com had around 3,000 active user accounts monthly, and processed cash withdrawals amounting to THB20m (US$618,000) per month over the past six month. An investigation is reportedly continuing with the aim of arresting others.
