Special Macau-HK ferry to end service July 16
About 1,267 people have returned to the city on the special transport service while 670 left for Hong Kong.
Macau.- The special ferry service connecting Macau with Hong Kong International Airport to bring back locals will be terminated on July 16 as scheduled.
The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) has denied the possibility of extending the service.
It also noted that the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in Hong Kong could mean the reintroduction of quarantine measures and other restrictions.
The ferry service began on June 17 for a month, also taking Macau residents to HK without having to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
1,684 people registered to return to Macau on the ferry and 1,267 have already done so. The service has also been used by 670 people to leave the city.
