Solaire North pit supervisor arrested over alleged VIP points fraud
CCTV footage and system records allegedly show the pit supervisor assigning player ratings to two Diamond-tier accounts despite no gaming activity taking place.
The Philippines.- Police have charged a pit supervisor at Solaire Resort North with qualified theft. The 33-year-old is accused of allegedly manipulating the casino’s loyalty programme by awarding nearly 9,900 gaming points to inactive VIP accounts.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said suspect identified only by the alias “Jovim,” was arrested on July 13 at the casino in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City, following an internal investigation by the resort. It said the casino’s investigation found CCTV footage and system records allegedly showing the pit supervisor assigning player ratings to two Diamond-tier accounts despite no gaming activity taking place.
Investigators said the points were awarded over a two-hour period when gaming tables under the suspect’s supervision had already closed. The casino’s management reported the findings to Project 6 Police Station. Qualified theft charges under Article 310 of the Philippines’ Revised Penal Code have been filed before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, and the case will proceed with inquest proceedings.
QCPD director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio urged businesses to report suspected internal fraud to law enforcement, while NCRPO regional director PMGen Anthony Aberin reaffirmed the police’s commitment to protecting the integrity of business and tourism establishments.
