Singapore tourism numbers increase in first half of 2025
The country received 8.33 million visitors in the first half of the year.
Singapore.- The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has reported that the country received 8.33 million visitors in the first half of this year, up 1.9 per cent year-over-year to 89.4 per cent of 2019 levels before the Covid-19 pandemic. In June, there were 1.25 million visitors, flat year-on-year.
In June, the largest number of visitors came from Indonesia (205,550), followed by China (197,180), India (112,720), Malaysia (100,980) and Australia (90,890). Figures from Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia showed year-on-year growth while figures from China and India saw year-on-year decline. According to STB, there were 924,230 overnight, flat compared to the same month in 2024.
During the first half of this year, the largest proportion of visitors came from China (1.48 million), followed by Indonesia (1.28 million) and India (647,240). Figures reported over 80 per cent recovery from the same period in 2019.
Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) reported that the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 3.8 per cent year-on-year in the first quarter of the year. The growth was slower than the 5 per cent increase recorded in the previous quarter.
