RGB International adds veteran gaming industry executive to board
Kelvin Tan joins the Malaysian gaming equipment supplier’s board as an independent non-executive director.
Malaysia.- Casino equipment supplier and distributor RGB International Bhd has appointed veteran gaming executive Kelvin Tan Hai Ching as an independent non-executive director, effective August 18. Tan, 59, has also been appointed to RGB International’s audit committee and nomination and remuneration committee.
Tan has more than three decades of experience in corporate management and international marketing, with a career spanning the gaming, hospitality and entertainment industries across Asia. He currently serves as executive vice president of international marketing at Sands China, a position he has held since May 2015. In this role, Tan oversees VIP and junket operations and develops strategic market initiatives across Asian markets.
Before joining Sands China, Tan spent six years as executive vice president of international marketing at Melco Crown Entertainment, now Melco Resorts & Entertainment, from 2009 to 2015. His earlier career in Macau included a role as vice president of business development at Venetian Macau between 2005 and 2008. During that period, he was part of the team that worked on the bid for the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort licence in Singapore.
Tan also held senior positions in the Philippines, including chief marketing officer for business development at Legend International Resorts, chief operating officer at Fontana Leisure Park and Casino, and executive director at Club Waterfront International. He later served as a strategy advisor to Australian gaming group Tabcorp Holdings.
According to the company filing, Tan holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Marketing and an MBA with a Finance concentration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also completed an Executive Development Program for Critical Issues and Strategic Planning for Top Industry Executives at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Tan is also the founder chairman of the Macao Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and holds leadership positions in several chambers of commerce in Macau.
