Reef Hotel Casino to reopen in July
The company expects Queensland state government to allow it to reopen in the first half of next month.
Australia.- As Australia slowly eases Covid-19 restrictions, Reef Hotel Casino could reopen its doors in the first half of July.
The Reef Casino Trust has reported to the Australian Securities Exchange that it expects the Queensland government to permit reopening on July 11.
The Queensland state began compulsory closures of businesses on March 23 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The country is slowly coming out of lockdown measures. Some states have opened their borders internally, although international borders are likely to remain shut until 2021.
The company said: “This closure has resulted in no rental income for the Trust since then. The consequence of this is that there is likely to be no distributable profit for the period from January 1, 2020, to June 30, 2020.”
Located in the city of Cairns, in far north Queensland, the Reef Hotel Casino offers a variety of games and 500 gaming machines, a “TAB Mega Wall” and dedicated Keno Lounge. It also has conference rooms and venues for events.
