Philippines: 28 arrested for alleged illegal gambling
Police arrested people for playing a card game and cockfighting.
The Philippines.- Police in the Philippines arrested 28 people in two days in three separate incidents of alleged illegal gambling over two days. Some 23 people were arrested for playing the card game tong-its, four for conducting cockfights and one for playing Swertres and Last Two.
Some 15 of the arrests were made by the Surigao del Sur Provincial Police Office (SPPO), six by Surigao del Norte SPPO, five by Agusan del Sur SPPO and two by Butuan City Police Office. Police seized PHP14,083.
