Paradise Co casino sales down 5.9% in February
Paradise Co has reported that casino sales declined 5.9 per cent month-on-month from KRW18.19bn (US$15.2m) to KRW17.07bn (US$14.2m).
South Korea.- The South Korean casino operator Paradise Co has revealed that casino sales declined 5.9 per cent in February when compared to January, from KRW18.19bn (US$15.2m) to KRW17.07bn (US$14.2m). The figure was also down 5.7 per cent when compared to last year.
Table game sales were down 4.9 per cent month-on-month from KRW16.22bn to KRW15.38bn and down 4.1 per cent year-on-year. Machine game sales were down 13.6 per cent mont-on-month from KRW1.97bn to KRW1.70bn and down 17.7 per cent year-on-year.
Table drop (the amount customers pay to buy chips at the table) fell 14.6 per cent month-on-month and 11.5 per cent year-on-year to KRW105.38bn.
In 2021, casino revenue was down 25.7 per cent in 2021 when compared to the previous year, falling from KRW335.97bn to KRW249.76bn (US$208.8m).
In January, South Korean authorities decided to strengthen countermeasures due to the Covid-19 Omicron variant and entertainment venues including casinos were ordered to operate at a limited capacity and with social distancing measures for at least three weeks.
