PAGCOR posts US$2.1m in net income for Q3

PAGCOR has shared its financial results for the third quarter of the year, reporting net income of nearly PHP104.9m (US$2.1m).

The Philippines.- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) has reported that net income for the third quarter of the year was PHP104.9m (US$2.1m). Gross income from gaming operations reached PHP7.05bn, making an aggregate of PHP22.28bn in the first nine months of the current year.

PAGCOR paid out a total of PHP3.94bn in gaming taxes and contributions during the third quarter.  

In July, PAGCOR said gaming income for the first half fell by 20 per cent year-on-year to PHP14.7bn (US$293.1m). During the first six months, the regulator made a profit of PHP79m.

Metro Manila casinos resume operations at limited capacity

Although President Duterte’s spokesperson Harry Roque said casino venues will not reopen during Manila’s transition to Level 3 of Covid-19 restrictions, some casinos have resumed operations.

According to local media reports, the casino operators have received authorisation from the Inter-Agency Task Force. City of Dreams Manila said its casino venue is operating at 75 per cent capacity and vaccination is not necessary for customers. It has also increased dining capacities in restaurants and reopened other facilities.

Okada Manila and Solaire Resort and Casino have also resumed operations at 75 per cent capacity. Casinos had been closed since August 6.
