Oshidori reports record profit for 2020
Oshidori International Holdings has reported record profits as it banks on winning the contest to become Nagasaki’s IR parner.
Japan.- Oshidori International Holdings has reported a profit of HK$2.82bn (US$363m) for the fiscal year 2020, the highest profit since its listing.
It said that its tactical and/or strategical investments segment had generated a profit of HK$3.20bn (US$412m).
Oshidori says it’s confident of winning the contest to become Nagasaki‘s partner for its bid for an integrated resort.
In partnership with US tribal casino operator Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, it’s one of the three operators selected by Nagasaki’s prefectural government as a potential partner for its bid to develop an integrated resort at the site of the Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sase.
The group stated it will “fully devote to become an integrated resort operator for the Nagasaki Prefecture”.
It said it wanted to create a dynamic community for Nagasaki to become a premier travel destination and a sought-after residential location.
The Nagasaki IR partner to be revealed in the third quarter of 2021
Nagasaki’s prefectural government has selected three operators to enter a competitive dialogue with the prefecture and city in May.
The three groups are: Oshidori International Holdings, Casinos Austria International and Niki Chau Fwu Group.
In June, the companies will have to submit secondary examination documents. Nagasaki will select its final candidate in August.
Authorities recently announced that potential private partners that have qualified for the next phase may not participate in similar bidding processes elsewhere in Japan.
