Okada Foundation makes donation for relief and education assistance in the Philippines
The contribution will support the Malasakit and Bayanihan Foundation’s nationwide humanitarian and educational programme.
The Philippines.- Okada Foundation (OFI), the charitable arm of Okada Manila, has donated PHP20m (US$325,000) to the Malasakit and Bayanihan Foundation to support humanitarian relief and education initiatives across the Philippines.
The contribution will fund the Malasakit and Bayanihan Foundation’s Malasakit sa Kapwa Nationwide Humanitarian and Educational Recognition Programme, which provides grocery packs containing food and hygiene essentials to indigent families, particularly those affected by natural and man-made disasters and graduation grocery gift packs to underprivileged graduates of state universities and institutions under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The turnover ceremony was attended by Okada Foundation president James Lorenzana and representatives of the Malasakit and Bayanihan Foundation, led by Secretary General and Treasurer Marc Benedict R. Talavera and Chief of Staff Dr. Shane Kinsley E. Veloso. Atty. John Cyril E. Santiago, Utopia G. Cuyugan-Talavera and Mariano L. Valiente Jr. also attended the event.
OFI said the contribution reflects its commitment to addressing the immediate needs of Filipino families and communities, particularly those facing difficult circumstances following disasters.
