New Manila casino hotel will cost US$1bn

Suncity Group hopes to commence operations at its Westside City Project in 2023.

The Philippines.- SunTrust, Suncity Group’s subsidiary in the Philippines, has announced that the total cost of construction and development of its main casino hotel at Manila’s Entertainment City will be US$1bn.

Last year, the group paid US$220m in construction and development costs for the Manila casino resort project. It’s considering raising a further US$280m via debt and/or equity financing to support the project.

The project will include 400 gaming tables and 1,200 slot machines, 400 five-star hotel rooms and 960 parking spaces covering 44,000 square metres.

Suncity Group hopes to commence operations at its Westside City Project in 2023, depending on the continued impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Last year, the operator designated local construction giant Megawide as the main contractor for the basement, podium and tower of the main casino hotel.
