Suncity inks deal for Manila casino construction
The operator has designated Megawide as the principal contractor for the basement, podium and tower of the Main Hotel Casino.
The Philippines.- SunTrust, Suncity Group’s subsidiary in the Philippines, has entered an agreement with the construction group Megawide for construction of its Philippines casino.
Megawide will be in charge of developing the Main Hotel Casino’s basement, podium and tower, at Paranaque City, Manila.
Under the contract, SunTrust will pay Php4bn (US$83.3 million) to Megawide for the works. It will pay 25 per cent as an advance in December and the rest on a progress basis.
Megawide will have 910 calendar days to complete the project.
The contract also lines up a second stage of the work for which it will pay Php2.26bn (US$47m). Suncity expects to open the Manila casino in late 2022.
