Mumbai to host Global Esports Games World Finals in March 2026

The competition is expected to boost India’s profile as a global esports destination.

India.- From March 19 to 22, 2026, India will host the Global Esports Games World Finals in Mumbai. The event is expected to draw more than 70 players from 23 countries and territories. Following earlier editions in Singapore, Istanbul, and Riyadh, Mumbai is the event’s first stop in South Asia.

The tournament will bring together national teams from countries such as the United States, Indonesia, South Africa, Australia, Benin, Hungary, Great Britain, host nation India, and other participating jurisdictions to compete in esports events, including DOTA 2 and Clash Royale.

Planned highlights include the Grand Opening Ceremony, GEFCon, GEFestival, fan interactions, playoffs, and the grand finale. The tournament will conclude with a ceremonial handover to Los Angeles.

The competition is organised by Eflag Corp and the Global Esports Federation, with backing from Maharashtra Tourism. It is expected to boost India’s profile as a global esports destination, attract investment in broadcasting, tournament operations and digital content creation.

Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister of Maharashtra, said hosting the Global Esports Games in Mumbai would strengthen India’s position as “an emerging global hub for digital innovation.”

Sir Paul J. Foster, President and chief executive officer of the Global Esports Federation, said: “India represents one of the most dynamic growth stories in global esports, and there is no city better suited to host the organisation’s flagship event than Mumbai.”
