Macau: only three hotels used as quarantine venues

Nine hotels have now been released and will open to the public following a deep clean.

Macau.- Nine hotels have now been removed from the list of properties being used as quarantine venues in Macau, with just three venues currently being used to house foreign visitors entering the SAR.

The properties currently being used are the Sheraton Grand Macau, Pousada Marina Infante and Golden Crown China Hotel.

According to Inside Asian Gaming, as of Sunday, April 19, a total of 215 people were still undergoing a 14-day medical quarantine in the Sheraton Hotel, where around 500 rooms are being used.

The fight against Coronavirus seems to be working and according to authorities, just 25 Covid-19 patients remain in hospital, with 20 people having now recovered and been released.

Last week, the official numbers were released for the Macau gaming industry and revealed that gross gaming revenue fell 59.9 per cent year-on-year to just MOP$30.6 billion (€3.51billion) in the first quarter of the year, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
