Macau GGR drops 1.2% year-over-year in August
Gross gaming revenue was US$2.7bn in the eighth month of the year.
Macau.- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has reported that Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) was MOP21.89bn (US$2.71bn) in August. That’s a decrease of 1.2 per cent in year-on-year terms but a rise of 8.1 per cent compared to July’s MOP20.26bn.
Cumulatively, Macau’s GGR for the first eight months of 2026 was MOP169.05bn (US$20.95bn), up 3.7 per cent year-on-year. The figure remains 14.7 per cent below pre-pandemic levels in 2019, when GGR totalled MOP24.26bn (US$3bn).
Citigroup’s latest monthly casino table survey noted that the premium-mass segment in Macau continued to show resilience in August. The report suggested that while there were fewer players, those present were spending more.
