Macau gaming tax revenue up 9.3% January-July
The government collected US$7.2bn from casino operations in the first seven months of 2026.
Macau.- The Financial Services Bureau has reported that Macau collected MOP58.34bn (US$7.2bn) in casino taxes in the first seven months of the year. The figure was up 9.3 per cent compared to the January-July period of 2025. Gaming taxes accounted for nearly 86 per cent of government revenue.
Under the 10-year concessions that came into effect on January 1, 2023, casinos pay 40 per cent on GGR. The monthly tax receipts for July amounted to MOP7.15bn, down 17 per cent from June. The Macau government’s 2026 fiscal budget plan estimated that income from taxes on the gaming sector would reach MOP92.53bn (US$11.52bn) this year.
The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) reported that Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) was MOP20.26bn (US$2.51bn) in July, down 8.4 per cent in year-on-year terms but up 9.4 per cent compared to June’s MOP18.52bn (US$2.29bn). Cumulatively, Macau’s GGR for the first seven months of 2026 was MOP147.16bn (US$18.22bn), up 4.4 per cent year-on-year.
