Macau casino exclusion applications up 67% in 2025
A total of 952 exclusion applications were recorded during the year.
Macau.- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has reported that the number of casino exclusion applications in Macau rose 67.9 per cent year-on-year in 2025. Self-generated applications and third-party applications combined reached 952 compared to 567 in 2024.
Self-exclusion requests represented the largest share, with 828 filed during the year, up 74.3 per cent from 475 in 2024. Third-party exclusion applications, typically submitted by a spouse or close family member, totalled124, up 34,8 per cent.
Under Macau’s regulatory framework, third-party exclusion requests must be confirmed by the individual concerned before they can be enforced.
DICJ figures highlight a fluctuating trend in casino exclusion applications over the past years, based on quarterly data from 2012 to 2025, as shown in the chart below. The regulator’s figures do not distinguish between applications submitted by Macau identity card holders and those filed by non-resident visitors seeking exclusion from the city’s casinos.
