Japan’s pachinko sales down 31.7% in June
Sales continue to be hit by the Covid-19 pandemic according to a survey from the Japanese government.
Japan.- Sales at Japan’s pachinko halls remained down by 31.7 per cent year-on-year in June at JPY195.27 billion (US$1.84 billion) according to a survey from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
Its survey covers pachinko halls with the highest sales, which account for about 70 per cent of all sales in the industry.
The numbers show an improvement on May, when sales were down by 77.6 per cent year-on-year.
Sales at pachinko halls have been down throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in March (down 80.4 per cent).
