IPI appoints new director after resignation
How-Yo Chi has been appointed to replace Dongting Zheng.
Northern Mariana Islands.- Dongting Zheng has resigned from his position as the manager and director of Imperial Pacific International (IPI). The company has appointed How-Yo Chi in his place. This move was confirmed through a document received by the CNMI Department of Commerce on October 13, a copy of which was obtained by Saipan Tribune.
The announcement is likely to be a point of discussion at the upcoming monthly meeting of the Commonwealth Casino Commission (CCC) board on Thursday (October 26).
A week ago, chief Manglona awarded the CCC US$94,068.15 to cover fees and expenses incurred due to a preliminary injunction that compelled it to enter into arbitration with IPI. The ruling deems that the CCC was wrongly restrained when the court issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) and subsequent injunction, which prohibited the CCC from proceeding with plans to revoke IPI’s casino licence.
