International Entertainment names new CEO
Meng Ho Wong is also chairman and director of Frontier Capital Group, which owns several hotels and casinos in the Philippines.
Philippines.- International Entertainment Corporation (IEC) has announced that Thomas Chan Chun Yiu has resigned from his position as CEO and executive director of the company, effective on September 1.
Chan Chun Yiu says he decided to step down because increasing personal and business commitments demanded more time. He will remain linked to the group as a consultant.
In a filing the hotel and casino developer said it has designated Meng Ho Wong as a replacement with immediate effect. He will also be executive director and director of several subsidiaries for a non-fixed period of time.
Ho, aged 48, has more than 20 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality industry, mainly at Genting Group. He is currently also executive chairman and director of Frontier Capital Group, which owns several hotels and casinos in the Philippines.
Ho is also a certified public accountant, and trained at KPMG Peat Marwick Malaysia.
International Entertainment is aiming to expand its facilities in the Philippines to develop an integrated resort. In June, one of its subsidiaries (Marina Square Properties, Inc.) applied for a provisional casino licence from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR).
